The new "Business Management" Bachelor Degree Programme, offers the platform for developing the knowledge and skills required to succeed in the modern business environment.
It is a uniquely designed programme, based on the essential skills, as demonstrated by the World Economic Forum's 16 future-focused skill set, and adopted by the world's most successful and prestigious companies.
Students "develop" and "master" the Top 6 skills of the professional elite in Business Administration: Strategy, Leadership, Data Analysis, Influence, Adaptation to Change and Problem Solving skills.
Graduates of the programme are able to fill managerial positions in multiple fields of Business Management such as Marketing and Sales, Finance as well as Human Resource management. Graduates have the opportunity to also further their Education in post-graduate disciplines in the field of Business.
The programme is based on theory and practice and emphasizes the concepts and techniques needed to fully understand the various aspects of business.
Fundamental knowledge of business disciplines: Students are expected to demonstrate a solid understanding of the core business principles when it comes to the primary areas of accounting/finance, marketing, and management, and understand the interconnectedness of those areas as it relates to business operation. Students’ assessments will involve their engagement with strategic plans and tests that require the exhibition of strategic thinking, visioning and the development of strategies intended for organisational improvement and growth within a global environment.
Quantitative Analysis and Reasoning: Students are expected to demonstrate their ability to apply quantitative analytical processes to solve problems and exhibit number processing skills as a way to support decision making in the context of management, financial accounting, statistics, microeconomics and macroeconomics, when they conduct estimations or when forecasting , and at the same time utilising those numbers when performing cost-benefit analysis within the context of the national and international business environment.
Critical Thinking and Problem Solving: Students are expected to demonstrate critical thinking as it relates to defining business problems based on the available evidence, discern fact from opinion, determine underlying causes, and formulate and evaluate potential solutions. Students will identify and implement best practices when it comes to business planning, decision-making, problem-solving, and conflict management within an ethical framework.
Communication: Students are expected to communicate clearly and effectively in both written and oral speech having always in mind the intended audience and whilst using strategies and methods that correspond to undergraduate level. Students shall demonstrate effective communication skills that are defined by clear, organised and concise speech and demonstrate a deep level of analysis and synthesis that is based on evidence.
Leadership and Team Collaboration: Students are expected to demonstrate leadership skills as they relate to taking initiative,
communicating objectives, building agreement, being receptive to change, and motivating team members to achieve maximum performance. Students are expected to collaborate with groups effectively and contribute to group projects, demonstrate responsiveness and availability as a team member, communicate clearly and effectively, exercise leadership where appropriate, and behave in a way that is deemed appropriate at a business / professional level.
Ethics: Students shall recognise ethical and moral issues, identify any call for actions and demonstrate the moral responsibility to take action. Students should exhibit integrity in their work and actions, honour confidentiality, comprehend the moral rules and follow generally accepted codes of conduct in the business word.
