The current Curriculum, at Level 5B of the National Qualifications Framework (CyQF), after its successful operation in recent years, appears to meet the needs of society arising from the increasing necessity for people to exercise for their mental and physical health. The aim of the “Personal and Group Fitness Trainer Program (2 Academic Years, 120 ECTS, Diploma)” is to equip students with the essential skills related to a wide range of personal and group fitness training and to foster an understanding of the importance of lifelong exercise.

As outlined above, the Curriculum is developed along two axes: Personal Training and Group Training. During their studies, students will have the opportunity to develop skills focused on improving physical fitness and performance. They will be trained in the correct demonstration of exercises, the identification and correction of technical errors to enhance effectiveness and reduce injury risk. Additionally, they will be trained to guide and design programs for re-engagement in exercise. Combining theoretical and practical courses, this Curriculum aims to achieve learning outcomes that contribute to the productive presence of students in the field of personal and group fitness training. Finally, with the contribution of the College’s specialized teaching staff, the Curriculum has succeeded in merging formal and informal learning, incorporating concepts and techniques, and offering specialized knowledge in personal training and group fitness programs, making it an innovative Curriculum in the field of fitness training.

PRACTICAL TRAINING

All the specialized infrastructure of the Program is located in the licensed and fully equipped collaborating gyms “Oxygen Gym” and “Train Station Gym” in Nicosia, with which the College has partnered. The agreement between the College and the gyms allows the College to use their facilities, premises, and equipment for the practical needs of the Program’s courses.

“Oxygen Gym” is a multipurpose space spread over three floors, featuring modern facilities and equipment, and fully air-conditioned rooms. It provides areas with free weights and resistance machines, various types of cardiovascular equipment, and specialized high-level services such as personal training, Pilates with Reformer machines, training with special functional training equipment, kickboxing classes, etc. Students, as part of their studies, will have the opportunity to use the Gym’s facilities with their instructors for all courses that include practical training. They will also be able to exercise freely at the Gym in their free time. “Train Station Gym” has entered into a collaboration with the College, allowing the College to use its facilities, premises, and equipment for teaching purposes.
